The Glory of God is:

Old Testament Carrier of God’s Glory
The Ark of the Covenant (Exod 25:10-22)
- A visible sign that God was dwelling in Israel's midst.
- Had a covering lid, called the Atonement Cover or Mercy Seat.
- Exodus 40:34-35
- 1 Samuel 5:1-4 – a power encounter.
Objects Contained in the Ark (Heb 9:4-5)
(1) Stone Tablets of the Covenant
(2) Aaron’s Staff that Budded
(3) Gold Jar of Manna
(4) Atonement Cover or Mercy Seat
(1) Stone Tablets of the Covenant
- The 10 Commandments. The Laws of God.
- All authority and power are in the hands of God.
- Represent the justice and judgements of God.
(2) Aaron’s Staff that Budded
- Numbers 16 to 17
- Represents Jesus’ Priestly Authority and Jesus’ Resurrection.
(3) Gold Jar of Manna
- Points to Christ, the Bread of eternal life. If any believe in Him, they will never die.
(4) Atonement Cover or Mercy Seat
- The Mercy Seat was placed above the Stone Tablets.
God sees the blood and the Mercy Seat before He sees the Law (the Stone Tablets).
- Mercy triumphs over judgement [James 2:13]
The Throne of Judgement is transformed into the Throne of Grace.
New Testament Carrier of God’s Glory
- The Church is God’s representative.
- Christians are the carriers of God’s glory.
- 1 Cor 3:16-17
- You are a LIVING carrier, created by God, made in His Image.
Implications For Believers
- You are the Temple of God. The NT Ark of the Covenant.
- You have the ministry of mercy and forgiveness.
- You are God’s Chosen Priesthood bringing healing and wholeness to others.
- You bring the Gospel’s power encounter to break strongholds and set the prisoner free.
